As a baby, Buddy crawls into Santa’s sack and is accidentally taken to the North Pole. There, he is adopted and raised as an elf. Over time, his human size impacts every aspect of his life and after overhearing he is not an elf, he sets out to New York City to find his biological father. On his travels, he’s mistaken for an employee at a department store, where he becomes smitten with unenthusiastic employee Jovie. As he builds a relationship with his father, a publisher of children’s books, Buddy touches a lot of lives along the way which comes in handy when Santa’s sleigh crashes in Central Park. With Buddy leading the song “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”, together, they raise enough Christmas spirit to power the sleigh. Buddy later becomes a children’s book author and marries Jovie.
