1966 Batman was the first and only live-action Batman television series. Starring Adam West and Burt Ward as the crime-fighting duo, Batman and Robin, who defend Gotham City. The show lasted 3 seasons and 120 episodes. There was also a live-action film featuring much of the same cast. This was one of the first adaptations of the DC Comics characters away from the comic book series. Ever since, The Dark Knight has been adapted in many different formats since 1966. This version was known for its “camp style”, its upbeat theme music and relatively simplistic youth-aimed moral lessons, which include the importance of using seat belts, doing homework, eating vegetables and drinking milk among children. This Vinyl Idol features the Joker. The Joker was portrayed by Cesar Romero. Romero refused to shave his moustache for the show so the Joker's white face makeup was simply smeared over it when playing the super villain throughout the series.
