Cobi: Historical Collection - DR BR 03 Steam Locomotive 1/35 Scale Construction Set (2564 Pieces)

The legendary BR03 steam locomotive arrives in stunning form with a massive 2564-piece COBI block model stretching 70 cm long. Originally designed for high-speed passenger service, the BR03 could hit speeds of 120 km/h and pulled the most prestigious express trains in Europe. Now, it's a centrepiece-worthy addition for any railway enthusiast or history fan.

This model replicates BR03 273, capturing the sleek profile and engineering precision of the original. Large express-locomotive wheels, rotating pistons and gears, and realistic side trusses all contribute to a highly detailed and dynamic build. The interior features a driver's cab with a firebox and throttle, plus an opening smoke box.

The included tender mimics the real one, capable of holding 32m³ of water and 10 tons of coal. Its block version features a removable coal load so it can be displayed full or empty. Detailed pad-printed markings replicate Deutsche Reichsbahn insignia and technical signage-no stickers used.

Class 03 locomotives were built between 1930 and 1938 by Borsig, Krupp, Henschel and Schwartzkopff, with 298 produced. They served in luxury and special trains, including "Amerika", and saw postwar service in West Germany, East Germany and Poland.
