Cobi: Historical Collection - DR BR 52 Steam Locomotive & Railway Semaphore 1/35 Scale Construction Set (2747 Pieces)

The iconic BR 52 / Ty2 Steam Locomotive returns in a powerful 2-in-1 COBI block model, built from 2,747 elements at 1:35 scale. Designed for both WWII and post-war history enthusiasts, this highly detailed model can be built with either German DR BR 52 markings from the wartime era or Polish Ty2 markings from the post-war Polish State Railways. This legendary freight locomotive is one of the most recognisable steam engines in railway history. Built for wartime reliability and simplicity, it was later widely used across Europe, including over 1,200 units in Poland. The locomotive could haul up to 620 tons at 80 km/h or 1,700 tons at 50 km/h, and even pulled passenger trains.

The set features detailed external design with authentic proportions, working wheels and gears linked in a realistic drive mechanism, and a fully recreated driver's cabin complete with throttle, gauges and removable roof. Inside the firebox is an imitation of burning coal. The tender includes a removable coal load, swivel bogies and a coupling hitch to link up additional wagons. Two figures are included: a German WWII-era train driver and a stoker. Additional bricks allow you to customise the model with historically accurate insignias, numbers, colours and lamps depending on whether you're building the German or Polish version.

Also included is a block-built semaphore, a fully printed and articulated signalling device essential to rail safety and historical accuracy.

The display stand features a brick-built railway embankment with a printed nameplate (choose from BR 52 or Ty2). The track includes five custom COBI sections totalling around 65 cm in length, made with dual-colour injection for realistic detail. Sleepers include textured wood grain and can be secured to baseboards or dioramas using discreet technical holes.
